Did I make a mistake teaching my friend some wrestling moves?

I was on the wrestling team last year and i’m going to join it again this year. Also this is going to be my friend’s first year. I showed him some high school wrestling matches on youtube and then i taught him a few moves. and already he’s almost as strong as me and tries to pin me. I began to think i made a mistake showing him some of the moves.
